Ultram and Celexa

Posted by MamaB on December 21, 2003, at 12:16:56

Hi y'all,
Been awhile, but I am still here. about a week ago I messed up my knee playing tennis. (So what is an old lady like me doing playing tennis ?) I may need surgery, but for now its heat and alternating Vicoden and Ibuprofen -- neither of which is doing much. Sooooo-- now the doc (who knows me well) is considering switching me to Ultram, but says he is hesitant because of my being on Celexa. I have read all the info and understand his hesitancy; What I would like to know is if any of you have had experience with the Ultram while on an SSRI?
The other thing he told me is that Celexa is soon to stop being manufactured, March of April. He mentioned that I might want to switch to Lexepro. Anyone out there made that switch?
Any advice on either matter would be greatly appreciated. MamaB

Hey MamaB, good for you playing tennis! I always feel perversely proud of a sports injury...hmm.
Anyway, I have taken more than a few ultram with several SSRI's and never have a problem. Except the problem with ultam not working all that great for pain. Works better if I take with some ibuprofen.

Thanks for the advice. I think I may stick with the Vicoden and hope this doesn't last too long!!
