Has anyone had experience switching to lexapro? My pdoc said lexapro is cleaner than zoloft and more potent. Any comments.

I wonder what they really mean by "cleaner" side effect profile. As for Zoloft, I threw up so much that I had to be hospitalized for extreme dehydration. I almost died. Lexapro made me feel like I was going to throw up, but I didn't. I had to eat dry food for almost 2 weeks. I also had diarrhea and headaches. It all seemed to get better after the initial 2 weeks. Now, I just have no ability to enjoy sex and fatigue. So, if that's a cleaner side effect. I sure have it.

As for strenth, yes, this drug took effect with the 1st pill for me. I wasn't telling my family to get the Hell out of my life anymore. It really calmed me down. So, now, I can live with people again. Also, I noticed my surroundings too. Trees looked greener. So, you aren't going into this blind. Yes, this drug is very effective for me, but there were serious results too. I took being able to live with people again over my enjoyment sexually and feeling very tired. Well, my family is definately happier and I can live with that.

Hi ..I was 50 mg of Zoloft for the past 10 yrs..It had pretty much pooped out and the sexual SE was killing my marriage.I was put on 10 mgs of Lexapro 17 days ago but have only built up courage enough to take 5 mgs.I think I was moreso mentally dependent on Zoloft and It was so hard to give it up (still is at times) If I have a bad day on the Lexapro ,my first response is "I want my zoloft back".I have made up my mind thou to at least give the Lexapro the full 8 weeks to see what the end result will be with it.There have been a few days that I have felt really good and upbeat on the Lex...Just am having to talk myslef into really giving it a fair chance.I also am on .05 klonopin for the anxiety, which I think is coming from not having the Zoloft anymore, and It does help.Good Luck and let me know how you are doing..

Zoloft to Lexapro

I think i posted this question before but i cannot locate it. Im switching from zoloft 100mg to lexapro 10mg. I have to call my doc tommorrow if he is in, he didnt tell me if i should stop zoloft, or cut it down. Does anyone have advise if i should just stop the zoloft and add the lexapro 10mg???
The zoloft seems to be pooped out. I feel like emotionally numb and no drive. I might need something like welbutrin to give me a kick or that spice for doing stuff.
