I've asked this before and can't remember the responses.
Is anyone on this combo?
BTW, and old poster MissLiz relayed in a post that a James Barbee MD stated that Zyprexa + MAOI is a horror combo- "that you could fry your brain with". Any body want to comment on that- Apparently he stated Risperidone is better or an old AP

Cheers bro,

Like fry your brain in terms of causing manic behaviour, or what?i think fry your brain problem means, like taking cocaine, cause so much stimulation and downregulation that you become unable to stimulate the neuron in the future? or that it actually causes destruction of neurons? there was a post a while back about how some amphetamines destroy re-uptake sites or something for example

discovered i had ADD...
i'm assuming doc wanted to try ritalin alone to see how i'd react before giving me both together (he thought i'd be okay on ritalin alone for depression and mentioned that combining both would kill me), so i discontinued parnate and took ritalin
tried taking effexor again (got tremors) and celexa (made me sleep 14 hours a day + gave me anhedonia, only partial relief from depression) so now i'm back on parnate and can't wait for it to kick in!
ok so anyway....... i am bipolar and zyprexa + parnate definately did not put me into a manic state... rather the opposite.... so it definately won't fry your brain in that respect if that is what you are worried about... maybe there are other concerns, but i was taking a tiny dose (2.5 or 5 mg) so perhaps it was irrelevent in my case
This is the end of the thread.
