My blood tests results are confusing ??

Posted by Robert Fairburn on October 18, 2003, at 17:43:27

In my blood test I had above levels in Dopamine, yet very low levels in 3-methoxytyramine which is a by product in Dopamine usage.

Any idea why this is so ??

I'm sorry, but blood tests for neurotransmitter levels are generally not a reliable indicator of anything at all. If they were, you can be sure that their use would be a standard part of medical therapy for mental illness.
