Vision???

Posted by J9 on October 2, 2003, at 11:28:00

Has anyone noticed a change in their vision on Effexor? I am on 150mg a day and it seems that sometimes I need my glasses, like to see the television, and sometimes I don't, like when I am reading or writing. I just had my vision checked recently and there have been no changes. But I have noticed this change since starting Effexor. Any input would be great. Thanks

Janine

If I may introduce myself. I just saw this group a couple of days ago. I am a physician, an eye doctor, and more importantly, a patient.
4% of people who take Effexor report some kind of "visual disturbance". The most common is blurred vision and focusing problems. If you can, I'd stick it out and see if Effexor works for you. If so, maybe a simple change in glasses will be all you need.

Hi J9 - I had really blurry vision when I was on effexor. Some days my vision felt blurrier than others. The med works well for a lot of people though. I am currently off it but it worked well for a long time for me.

Hi Eurastus,
I know they say 4% but I bet it's actually more. I never even needed glasses until I went on effexor. Now that I am off, my vision is becoming clearer again and I don't need my glasses.
Take Care,
Mary
