IMprovement with hormone replacement (ESTRADIOL)E2

Posted by Angel1 on August 10, 2003, at 15:20:30

Any women out there have any experience with hormone therapy? Namely, estradiol(E2). There have been studies showing an astounding 80% improvement in depression when taking estradiol when levels were shown to be too low. Any input would be appreciated very much. Thanks in advance

I wore an Estradiol patch for several months, with NO change in my depression or anxiety. I stopped due to warnings about estrogen and breast cancer as well as the fact that I had been directed to do it just to try to see if it worked; I'm not pre-menopausal yet (although I'm approaching it!) -- my hormone levels were still okay. (another reason I stopped)

HI Janelle,

Thanks for your response. Did your Pdoc recommend you trying the estradiol patch? How were you able to obtain this patch? I think it works only if your levels are low and then you supplement with it. If you don't mind, how old are you? thank you, Angel1
