I would definitely take it before bed. I always did. The sleepiness and nausea should disappear very soon. The anxiety also should go away.

Good Luck!

May I ask if you are on Lexapro now? If not, why did you stop it? I take it in the morning, but I have been an insomniac since, so I was thinking about taking it at night. Did the anxiety go away after how long????

Thanks-hope to hear back:)

Hi,

I'm not on Lex anymore. It didn't really help my anxiety and I had terrible "brain fry". I couldn't concentrate or put a thought together. My memory was gone too. I am very sensitive to meds though so don't take my side effects too seriously. I also had terrible insomnia the first 10 days or so and increased panic symptoms (which I didn't have on other SSRI's). You should try to get some Klonopin, Ativan, etc. I took a Klonopin every night with my Lex for the first 10 nights and I got a great night sleep. After 10 days I fell asleep on my own with no Klonopin and no problems.

Good luck and don't hesitate to post if you have any other questions.

Thanks Capri, I'm currently taking 2mg of Klonopin for sleep and last night took Benadryl (allergies) and slept quite well-before I knew it-it was morn. Do you remember gaining any weight on Lexapro?
Thanks so much for your help.

Hi Gal,

I took Lexapro for 5 weeks. I'll tell you towards the end I started eating alot. I was craving so much food. I had that same problem when I took Paxil a few years ago. I gained 10 pounds in a year on Paxil..which wasn't all that bad. I've always been thin most of my life.

I work out 3 nights a week and I hadn't noticed any weight gain just the appetite increase. I think you know that most SSRI's slow your metabolism and give you an appetite too. Hopefully Lexapro will not have that affect on you. Everyone is so different on these meds.

Keep us posted on your progress.
