I have been on Paxil (20 mg) for 6 years due to panic attacks. (I gained 50 lbs. when I first went on Paxil, and I found that if I didn't take it one night, the next morning I was so dizzy I couldn't function) My panic was completely under control until a few months ago, and now it's the worst ever. My doctor switched me to 25 mg of Paxil CR with the intent of switching me to Lexapro. He told me to start taking 10 mg of Lexapro one night, then Paxil CR the next, then so on for a few weeks. So far, I feel terrible!! I'm so dizzy, chills, nauseaus, etc.....Is there a better way to switch from Paxil to Lexapro?!? HELP!

It would seem more logical to me take the 10 mg of Lexapro every day and start lowering your dose of Paxil. 25 mg to 15 mg to 10mg to 5 mg, etc. over a period of weeks.
I am not sure that just switching back and forth every day will do you any good.

Thank you so much! That makes much more sense to me! But is it bad to mix the 2 together like that? I'm also taking Xanax everyday.

It should not be a problem since you are only doing it for a short while., but I would make sure with your Doctor.
