hey guys , finally Im going to take nardil for the first time in my life . I hope this drug could give me back my life
Ive been 5 days without any drugs and in this moment my fear to the people is huge , and my depression is returning ,what is the less time I could wait to start the nardil ??? 1 week ???
I cant wait anymore to take it. Whish me luck guys
I want to be a happy normal person

Hi Tep!

Depends on what you were taking before.
What did you take before?

I waited 2 weeks when I switched from paxil cr to nardil.

14 days is the std. though my pharmacist said its just to avoid serotonin syndrome, but the interaction as I've read, with maois, could be deadly?

Angelic,

How are you tolerating the side effects of Nardil as compared to Paxil? I tried Parnate in May and had to stop because of skin rash and it didn't help much for anxiety. I'll be trying Nardil very soon. I here it is better for anxiety verses Parnate.
I have been on a paxil/imipramine combo. I'm hoping that the side effects won't be any worse on Nardil.

What side effects?

I never really had any with Paxil to be honest. Neither with Nardil so far.

No weight gain, nothing. Good times

Depends on what meds you were taking. If you were on an SSRI the "usual" washout is 2 weeks - HOWEVER - it was done in 1 week for me because I was taking Lexapro and the half-life is very short compared to - say - PROZAC. If you're NOT on an SSRI, you may be able to start the Nardil sooner. Talk to your doc.

Do read the link Rod posted, the pdf link.

You didn't state what drugs/meds you washed out from. For Prozac (fluoxetine), you need a FIVE (5) WEEK washout before instituting any irreversible MAO-I, such as Nardil. Also, check with your psychiatrist on how long before you start the Nardil you need to institute the dietary restrictions. I don't recall myself if I started them the day I began taking Nardil, or some days/weeks before.
