I'm seeking advice on how to treat energy, attention, and concentration problems. I am not only tired all the time, but I have trouble keeping my attention. I have tried adderal, provigil, focalin, lamictal and all have 'pooped out' on me. Initially they seem to help me not be so sleepy, but they very quickly stop working (within a week, except for the lamictal which was not tolerable). Currently I am on strattera. It too has stopped working for me. Anyone else experience this or know of a combo that might be worth trying (I also have depression)? Thanks.

Yes me! I have experienced this pooping out. I've been on ritalin for a couple of years and it almost seems to make me more tired when I take it.

Have you had a complete physical exam lately, including blood tests for thyroid function?

>Hi, yes, I have had thyroid tests repeatedly over the years. I also had many tests done recently as I became quite sickly. We thought the cause was lamictal or the combo of meds I was on along with it. Nothing showed up to indicate somthing specifically wrong with me. I went off the meds and got better. I have wondered if I have chronic fatigue syndrome as symptoms of nausea and severe tiredness still show up.

I've had Dexedrine poop out on me. Try methamphetamine. Just monitor your use, I can't imagine that EVER pooping out.

I am also having this problem. Sounds like we both need a medication holiday. Its hard to find the time to be a lump for 2 or 3 days :)
When I took straterra it made me so tired, I could only take it at bed time.

Ritalin did this to me too. Its briefly up and then crashing down. Adderall is much better. Although I am getting a tolerance for that too.

blondegirl, thanks for sharing,
have you tried augmenting your stimulant with somthing else to prevent it from becoming ineffective? I've heard this is a possible strategy but I'm not sure which drugs get the job done.

I haven't heard of this for stimulants. Let me know if you find anything out about this.

I have also gotten quite sick in the past from most medication combos. I really can't tolerate any medication "cocktail." It's either one drug for me or none at all.
