I haven't got any research links but I do have my own experience. For me Ritalin is like gasoline. It burns fast and hot. When I take it, bang. I feel great. If only it stayed that way. It slowly starts to lessen in its effects over the course of two to three months. Its always better than nothing but that initial burst is great. I'd love to feel that way all the time. I have to go off it for two or three months, or longer before I can get the same effect again. It really helps me to concentrate. It is very pure speed so I hear. Like I said, I wish it just continued to work like that initial burst. I think it's like most amphetamines it opens the flood gates on norepinephrine but eventually you just deminish your reserves.
