I have Klonopin wafers

Posted by mattdds on June 20, 2003, at 23:16:32

Hey all,

Was just prescribed the "holy" wafers of our beloved Klonopin. My pdoc gave me half my monthly dose in tablets and the other half in the wafers.

Honestly, I would not have paid for them had I not had good insurance, but they are quite intersting. Just drop one on your tongue, and it is literally *GONE* in like 2-3 seconds!

My doctor's reasoning was to take the regular maintenance dose (1.0 mg daily), and take the wafers p.r.n. for situations where discretion might be needed (they don't require any water to be taken).

Honestly, besides the fact that you can take them without water, they may not be any more discreet, as they come in big blister packs that are labeled "Klonopin Wafers 0.5 mg".

As for if they work any faster, I have not noticed any significant difference, but I don't really notice Klonopin anymore (besides the fact that I rarely get anxious anymore) anyway, so maybe that's it. I'd like to see some hard data on if these babies are actually absorbed any faster. I doubt it, but who knows.

Anybody else have these prescribed for them?

Matt

Maybe they could combine this medium with the idea of those new melting breath mint strips. Fresh breath *and* mental health! I'd love to see that commercial.

Disclaimer: Sorry, I just couldn't resist a little (very little?) late night levity. I'm actually considering trying to add Klonopin to my medical arsenal within the next month. I'd be interested in hearing how others liked them, too.

Matt, can you find out how the price compares with the same quantity of regular tablets?

I've a question: what is the difference between Klonopin "wafers" and crushed Klonopin tabs used sublingually?

Take care,
Brad

A big difference - that Roche and Solvay can make money on clonazepam again.

Best,

Matt

Hi everyone,
I'm getting confused about all this--I live in Thailand and no facility carries the 1 mg. size, only .50 and 2 mg.
Can you easily obtain the 1 mg. tabs in the U.S.?

My Klonopin tabs had very minty taste when used subligually and they worked the same via this route BUT faster on-set.

My pdoc prescribed 1 mg.in the past, but not for a couple of years now.

The 2mg.tabs would be simple to break though, you shouldn't need a pill cutter.
