I had a similar SE w/Lexapro, but it went away after a bit. It was very annoying, but not enough to make me quit taking my meds. Hopefully that's all it is, but if it really is a concern you should talk to your DR.

Good Luck!!!

I've had this also. I believe it is an acid reflux thing with meds. Even when I take away the culprit med it usually takes a few weeks to go away. I have problms with provigil which acts on dopamine just like your stim. It could also be some kinfd of eps also. You might try a benadryl or I got it to go away once using sudafed. Although it sounds like a really benign thing, I rocognize that it's very uncomfortable.

What do you mean by kidfd, do you think it might be something with my thyroid or just a symptom of anxiety?

Sorry, that was a typo. That was supposed to "kind of". I sicerely doubt it's thyroid, but get it checked if you want. Again, I think it's an acid reflux thing even though it doesn't feel like it. When mine was really bad I would get a tingly acidic feeling/taste in my mouth. The things that heped it were running, antacids (a little bit), and the sudafed helped once. Also try not to eat too big of meals or lay down after eating.

It could also be some form of EPS as well since you're using a dopaminergic drug. This would likely abate by itself when you remove the offending med.

Best of luck.

The first symptom I ever had of anxiety was an intermittant lump in my throat. This was like 6 years ago. It gradually went away after a few months, and happens only rarely now. At the time, it bothered me quite a bit, though. I went to a couple of doctors, and they both shrugged me off. It's usually nothing important. Look up info on "globus sensation" or "globus hystericus"

When my depressive/anxiety disorder first began I had what "felt" like a lump in my throat. I had an endoscopy (video tube down throat) to examine, even a CAT-Scan but it was all psychosomatic, meaning all in my head so to speak. So, the advice others have given about acid reflux, etc. is only relevant if your "lump" is actually something physical in your throat or the symptoms of anxiety which can cause a subjective feeling of a lump, even though there really isn't one there. If it's the anxiety, then you'll need to treat that with what your p-doc recommends...anything from SSRI's to Benzo's to MAOI's, etc. Mine went away eventually, however, in my case with more severe anxiety symptoms.

Best of luck to you!

Lithium gave me that lump feeling, I hated it. Do you feel emotional with the lump or is it completely physical? I might have somebody look at your thyroid. Its rarer in men but it can sure play hell with your emotions if the thing is on tilt.

I don't really feel anxiety at the time I get a lump in my throat but its also not burning like some sort of acid reflux. Strangely, though I have tried taking zantac and its seems to work but this could all be a plasebo effect. Its just very frustrating.
