How long...

..........are you supposed to wait before you know an Ad isnt working? I have been on TCA's now for five weeks and I admit it has made me feel slightly better but only in some ways and other symptoms are still the same, such as it has eased my anxiety somewhat physically, ie no fast heart beat and no shaking, but I still have a sense of dread and fear, I still hear everyone talking about me, I still cannot look at myself or trust myself. I have been on effexor and prozac and none of them have worked, SSRI's made me more jumy and anxious. Is it possible that if AD's alone arent working I have a more complex problem? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

Five weeks is a pretty good trial. You might try to increase the dosage with doctor's permission. Tricyclics can be dangerous. I think a couple of weeks more is an absolutely fair trial.

Perhaps some Abilify might help. I think that symptom where one is just unable to shake the belief others are talking about oneself is very disabling.
