A cure for any kind of withdrawal!

Posted by bubble on February 14, 2003, at 14:47:03

This for both anti-depressant and ant-psychotic withdrawal:

Even if you get back on your regular dosage of medication it won't make the pain stop.
You have to find a way to minimize or even stop the withdrawal symptoms.
I know what you need. Because I went through withdrawal hell myself. (I'm wondering who's was worse yours or mine)
Take one Jamieson B-100 complex vitamin. It should dissapear than.
Watch the fun as it slowly subsides.

If you don't believe me read the facts about it at this link:

If a person eats refined foods & doesn't get enough B complex vitamins, or if they're hyperthryoidic (which has a higher need of B complex) then they'd benefit from the supplement. It may even alleviate symptoms of withdrawal to a degree but count yourself fortunate it helped you that much. It's not a cure for withdrawal. My B complex intake is high but it didn't make it any easier when I stopped both Luvox & Paxil two diff times. I weaned off over a few months & still went through hell.

I think we have to be exact on which of your symptoms get alleviated. The ones for me were definately the uglier ones. Now you arose my curiosity and I have two questions.
1) I was taking Zyprexa (on it at 10mg for two years) and I went off it "Cold-Turkey".
Even though they're not the same type of medication I'm wondering which withdrawal is worse Paxil, Luvox or Zyprexa.
2) What worked for you while you were weaning?

I'm afraid it didn't help my withdrawl.
It may have eased benzo withdrawl, along with vitamin C, but definately not a cure.

Tried it many times..made me much worse :-( (nm) » bubble

Trying to answer your questions:

1) Seeing I don't know what Zyprexa is like, I can say that while both luvox & paxil were horrible going off (for me), Paxil was much worse even though I took months weaning off both. With Luvox, I was still able to function & drive (though very carefully & it made me nervous the whole time). With Paxil, I literally was bed-ridden. Every time I moved, I'd get waves or nausea & vertigo. The sensations I got in my brain were very weird. Talking with a pharmacist who was very up on meds, he said that there were brain wave changes that could be seen on EEG when stopping Pail. He said they were similar to what happens with very small electric shocks applied to one's head.

2) Nothing worked for me. I tried St. John's wort, extra vitamins & minerals, herbs for calming anxiety, anything I could think of. I even ate catnip straight as it's supposedly very calming. Ginger helped with the nausea - that's all. In fact, even a year or more later I was still having the strange brain zaps & waves of vertigo but much milder. When I started Provigil (initially it was adrafinil not modafinil), I immediately went back to feeling normal & have had no problems since.
