yes and it was a fantastic combination for me- it worked so well. Unfortunately, the risperdal made me gain a lot of weight- 60 pounds- so I am now trying to switch to geodon. Luckily, I know risperdal does NOT cause that much weight gain in everyone. I was just lucky I guess. But on it, I've never felt so good in my entire life! Good luck!

BABS,
60 pounds, over what period of time did you gain the weight? How long were you on the celexa and risperdal? How much time before you began to feel the effects of the risperdal?
Hope you don't mind all the questions.

> 60 pounds, over what period of time did you gain the weight?

I gained the 60 pounds over about 9 months but I will be honest with you- I ate a lot and didn't exercise. I found that the risperdal REALLY incresed my appetite (to the point where if I didn't eat every few hours I would become hypoglycemic- that seems to be better since I added adderall to the mix). I have lost about ten of the sixty pounds since September but risperdal doesn't usually cause that much weight gain. I was definitely the exception.

How long were you on the celexa and risperdal?

I'm still on both. I just tried to switch to geodon but it made me very sick so as of today I am back to the old regime.

How much time before you began to feel the effects of the risperdal?
I felt the effects of the risperdal almost immediately in that it made me more relaxed. I'd say it was about 1-2 months before it fully kicked in but I experienced some relief immediately.
