For too long MAOI drugs have been used too little in OCD treatment. MAOI drugs are very safe (if caveats are followed)and effective in OCD treatment. Keep in mind, however, that, as opposed to depression and anxiety, they can take a long time to work for OCD (i.e. up to 14 weeks) and high doses are typically needed (i.e. 90-105mg)

I took it for a year and it didn't help my OCD.

Gosh it was a long time ago, I really don't remember, but I think it was a standard dose as listed in the PDR. Plus I was taking it for depression and not necessarily OCD. Maybe a high dose like you mentioned would have worked.
