word search problem; lamictal; zyprexa

My doctor just raised the dosage of lamictal I am taking to 450 mg. I'm starting to have word search problems. We've upped the Zyprexa dose also, but I've been on a much higher dose of Zyprexa without this particular problem. Has any body experienced this word search - forgetting why-I-went-someplace-(i.e. the kitchen, the bedroom) to-get-something problem?

Hi, i have experienced the problem you described whilst being on lamictal. My thought processes were all over the place jumping from one thing to the next, going off on tangents. I also found that I'd start speaking and have to stop mid sentance because I couldn't remember words to describe stuff ect. This was happening on a regular basis and became quite disturbing and embarrassing. I don't know if you experience this?
At the time I was also on moclobermide (AD) and Klonopin (benzo tranquillizer) , so its hard to say what was causing it. I'm just on the Klonopin now, and this doesn't seem to happen much now. Sorry this probably isn't much help, but good luck. Take care

This was a BIG help. I'm going to speak to the doctor this week and I wanted to see if the side effects I'm experiencing could be from lamicatal. Your description of your side effects are EXACTLY like mine. The only other drug I had this on was lithium.
Thanks again
