Starting the Truhope program

Posted by judy1 on October 1, 2002, at 22:53:41

For those unfamiliar, it is a mineral supplement designed to replace meds for bipolar disorder. I am doing this with my shrink's blessings because I have had such bad luck with meds and their side effects. I do have heavy therapy and will continue to do that while I taper off of meds. Just wondering if anyone else here has tried this program and what their feelings were.
Thank you, Judy

No first-hand experience, so I'll be interested in what you have to report. My pDoc suggested it a few months ago, but I wasn't desperate enough at the time to swallow that many pills everyday. I hope it helps.

Blessings,

Chris A.

I met a gentlemen with bipolar 1 taking it at a alternative menatl health seminar- he was on the maintenance dose of 16 pills a day- he took them all at lunch- and he said this was the only program that had ever helped him. I think with all the experiences we have between us, it's no wonder our docs have suggested it. I'm still in the initial stage of monitoring my moods, getting my support group together, etc. I was impressed with the staff (all former bipolar patients) who give support. I'll post my progress as it goes. Take care, judy

Thanks for offering to keep us posted. I don't know anything about this program, but I hope it does the trick for you! That would be so great! I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Do they say what kind of supplements they use (like b-vitamins, or omega3 fatty acids, etc.)? I was just wondering if it was vitamin based, or more herb based (such as st. john's wort)? They must have a theory about what chemicals are bouncing around in our heads and use the supplements to calm them down (or rev some up, maybe). I'll look it up and see what I can find...don't want you to have to write a book about it here.

It's more mineral based Shar, and I'm doing it for bipolar and panic disorders. The link is support@truehope.com

gratful if you could update us on how the treatment is working for you. Thanks!
