Lexapro / Wellbutrin SR update: Good news

Posted by Phil on September 16, 2002, at 18:31:09

Dropped back to ten mg on Lex on Wed or Thur. Started at 20 mg last Monday. Right now: no side effects and feel the same as when I was at 60 mg Celexa. Maybe better..pleased so far. No more constant nausea.

Dropped from 400 to 300 mg Well SR, that was what was causing the whooshing sound in my head. At 90 mg Adderall, I think I was over-amping.

One day at a time

Phil

90mg Adderall XR and Klonopin, 3 mg/day.
My doc loves it when I can reduce something.

Mitch, I'm a very fast metabolizer. Think the dose a little high?

None of your previous side effects that were troubling
you, or no side effects AT ALL...and of course the big question---
what about sexual side effects?

Phil, I metabolize meds at a typical rate (I have had liver function and med level checks done recently). I think you just have a high tolerance level in general to meds and lack the "brittleness" that I have (due to bipolar). Adderall at 90mg does sound high, but if it is working OK, then you certainly can't argue with success. Have you had a cardiac stress-test done, or something that can check for mitral valve prolapse? Also, a full set of neuroendocrine function tests might be a good idea. You might ask your pdoc to refer you to a good internal medicine doc and a cardiologist to check some of that out.

keep us posted,

Mitch

Mitch, I had a stress test done about 9 years ago. No problems but it has been a while.
I have pectus excavatum which can cause MVP or accompany it. So far so good but I will bring this up with my doctor.

Thanks.

Roo, I started at 20 mg and was feeling the preliminary uh, feeling of sexual dysfunction so I dropped to ten. So far so good.
I really can't feel any side effects right now but I'll be complaining loudly if I do!

Wow...so you're not feeling any sexual dysfunction?
Amazing...I can hardly believe it...Well Hallelujah!!
I'm happy for you!! (I know you've been struggling with
this for awhile, just like the rest of us!)

Upped my dose from 10 to 20mg last night. Was feeling some breakthrough depression. To be fair, I also had my pdocs blessing to drop from 400 to 300 mg of Wellbutrin, which could contribute to the backslide.
Next update soon!

Phil
