It just seems to make me more aggitated (perhaps the Norepinephrine aspect of it) there's anyone who's tried this combo, any input would be helpful. I was also recently diagnosed with BP II. I'm also on Adderall 5mg bid and klonopin 1mg qd. Any thoughts on this unusual combination? I feel ok so far, but not good. Thanks,

I've been on Lithium and Remeron for about 7 weeks now. I started taking them for depressive symptoms.. I would say the Remeron definitely helped some of my depressive feelings, like being easily agitated or easily offended, but in terms of mood, I noticed little improvement. In fact, compared to all other thigns I've taken, Remeron has definitely had the least effect on me and I'm considering asking my doc if we can switch to something else. I'm in the same boat as you I think... I feel OK, but I know I have felt better and I can definitely tell there is still something wrong, because I have little to no motivation and I have lost interest in things that I normally found fun, like running and working out. I can barely get the drive, if I can at all. I think BarbaraCat has been successful on Rem+Lith so you might want to ask her.. for some it has been a successful combo, but not really for me. That might just have to do with the way Remeron works with my body though. I definitely sleep more-- I sleep and when I wake up, it's like I don't feel fully rested.. I never wake up and feel like I can't go back to sleep, I can always sleep more, and it bothers the hell out of me. My dreams are definitely more vivid, sometimes in color, and I remember them more easily. Besides the sleeping I haven't had other side effects. I'm thinking that I'll be trying something else though, just because I don't feel like I have felt before on other meds, I feel very drab and like I'm stuck at a 5 or a 6 out of 10. Any of this sound familiar?

BarbaraCat here. Rem + lith update. I'm still on 600mg lith and down from 75mg Rem to 11.5. The reason is that higher doses of Rem kicked in the norephinephrine effect very noticeably. For those who have the sluggish unmotivated type of depression, the extra NE might be helpful, but it was too much for me. My depression is compounded by severe anxiety so NE is counter-productive. The lower dose feels OK but not great. Since my initial fabulous response it's been a just OK med - benign side effects (if you don't count the pork-o-genic factor) but not all that effective. Don't want to revisit SSRI apathy so I'll stick to what I'm on now and try to be pragmatic, as in, life is damn hard and it's normal to feel a tad depressed just as long as it's bearable.
