Desperately in need of Desoxyn med articles

Posted by utopizen on September 12, 2002, at 22:18:04

I'm looking for online or offline medical articles that discuss Desoxyn in general, especially if it discusses it as an option to use if response isn't good.

I get dysphoria on Adderall, Ritalin, and might try Dexedrine before asking for Desoxyn. My p-doc's never heard of Desoxyn, so I wanted to bring in an article or two explaining its benefits so he doesn't start thinking I'm a druggie or something.

The trouble with google searches, for any drug, is that you invariably get 1000 pages where identical information, mostly just what the package insert says.

And most references under a Google search come up with meth articles about how it's plaguing the nation and for some odd reason very breifly mention Desoxyn is the legal form-- and then continue about street meth. Or you get Desoxyn used as a keyword in the anti-Ritalin underground sites.

Coming across claims that Methedrine and Desoxyn are both available from some states' anti-drug sites is a bit funny... I don't know where they get their info from, but I believe that's at least dated back to pre-1968... That and the fact that Obetrol is mentioned as another available stimulant, even thought it was discontinued over 20 years ago before becoming Adderall...

Doing a Google search but putting in site:edu will eliminate most of what you don't want. Including site:edu will make sure that all the sites that come back are from university sites (where most of the research is done anyway). There's 282 sites that come up like this.

You still need to narrow it down but past the first few pages, the other sites will have little of value. So base it on
the title that comes up (e.g. Medications for Narcolepsy),
the description of the site (e.g. www.uic.edu/depts/cnr/medications_for_narcolepsy.htm),
the size of the info on the site (e.g. 26k),
and if something does seem useful after reading the page, check back with Google & see if it has
'Similar pages' included at the end of the description that may have additional material.
[For instance, the above example I used would not be useful for you unless you have narcolepsy.]

When you open the site you're checking over, if your browser is Microsop's IE, you can select 'Edit' from the menu,
select 'Find (on This Page)' or Ctrl+F & type in desoxyn
so you won't need to wade through line after line looking for what you want.

It's what anybody does when they need to find pertinent info on something, drug related or not. I could do it for you but I'm busy. Why not do it yourself? You'd be surprised how good your fact finding becomes.

Please refine your search.
