I haven't used them together, but there are some posts on this board from January 2002 about it. One person hates it, another loves it, and lost weight, another gained weight. I think Remeron is one of those that changes it's effects as the dose in increased. Histamines are blocked at 15 mg/day dose and make some sleepy, at 30 mg/day dose it is more energizing because more norepinephrine is available, and that may overcome the sleepiness. http://www.preskorn.com has much information. From that site:

Histamine 1 recepton -- sedation, antipruritic effect
Alpha 2 NE recepton -- antidepressant efficacy, arousal, increased libido
5HT2a block -- antidepressant efficacy, increased REM sleep, antianxiety efficacy, anti-EPS
5HT2c block -- antianxiety efficacy, increased appitite, decreased motor restlessness
5HT3 block -- antinauseant
