Seizures and Wellbutrin

Posted by Medusa on August 4, 2002, at 4:41:50

Anyone know how how to guage how serious the threat of seizures is with Wellbutrin?

(Thanks Shawn T for the link.)

My grandmother was and one of my sisters is epileptic, although with different ages of onset and different types of seizures, so the one pdoc who considered Wellbutrin ruled it out right away.

But what's worse, the threat of wrapping my car around a telephone pole because of a seizure, or because of a refusal to go on?

I just got my driver's license back because of a grand mal. There are other ADs that don't have that risk profile, and if you have a family history- don't go there. Take care, judy

Wellbutrin SR has a 1/1000 chance of seizures.
Regular release Wellbutrin has a 4/1000 chance.
Zoloft has 4/1000 chance.
I can't pull anymore off the top of my head (I'm sure that those are correct averages, however).
