Hey -- has anyone here tried fasting for a few days? What symptoms could I expect?

I would imagine your symptoms would reflect the predisposition of your own unique body prone weaknesses to come out in 24 hours..after that you would get the usual feeling of elation as your body starts to try to find your ways of feeling ok...you could get tripped a bit..and if youve never fasted ?? a very unusual thing for any living thing..you could find it all a bit strange...you'll feel slower..strength goes right low...but your body free of the massive strain that digestion takes from you...gives the brain a freedom thats creative...religous too....you could halucinate..have an out of body experience..

Fasting is great for deep brain trips ..and your body goes mining for the stuff it needs out your fat..its very good for you...i'm sure more people will have more specific problems to tell...

Just don't drive..

I've seen a naturopath re: my memory problems.
She wants me to do a juice fast, with lighter fasting (fruits and veggies) around the edges. I've done 3 days of just fruits/veggies, and 2 of juice fasting so far. The first day of juice fasting I misunderstood the directions and drank 1 gallon of carrot juice instead of 2 quarts!

Yesterday I caved and ate a little of my girlfriend's chinese food. It gave me a horrible headace and back pain. I've had horrid insomnia, back pain, headaches during all of this. I'm not sure if it's really good for me. But today I woke up feeling pretty good.

I just wonder, being hypothyroid, if it could harm me in any respect.
