REMERON AND EFFEXOR: A disasterous combination

Posted by rjk on January 11, 2002, at 12:16:18

Combining Remeron and Effexor was the worst thing I could have done. I had reasonable success with both individually, but together they have blown my brain to bits. My brain is now so sensitive to medication that I have the most severe reaction to the smallest amount of any drug. Unfortunately the sensitivity that I now have is not just limited to medication, but every day food and drink. I would be interested in hearing from anyone else who has had problems with this combo.

What are the exact symptoms that you have experienced from this combination? I don't have enough information to be decisive (as a layman).

Medications for sensitive systems include BuSpar (buspirone, as benign as taking acetaminophen), and just plain-old generic Prozac.

Perhaps you can stay on one medication or the other (preferrably Effexor) in order to prevent a total emotional disaster by withdrawal symptoms...
