Remeron/Xanax Life savor.

Posted by geno on December 11, 2001, at 17:21:36

Hello, iv been on remeron for 1 yrs along with xanax.
Well the other night, i ran out of both. BOY i could not even sleep a wink. And i felt very very nervuous, anxious all night. I got my hands on xanax, took 1mg for sleep, it relaxed me, but the sleep was so poor. The next day about noon, i felt the xanax wearing off, and all nasty anxiety come back.
Boy im hoppin on the remeron 30mg .5mg xanax train tonight. Nothing works better

That's great Geno,

I can feel the benzos in my system. It feels like they belong there. They just seem to calm my brain wonderfully.

I think I'm going to beg my pdoc to get back on the klonipin. If I had my druthers, I would be taking Xanax instead of klonipin, but I don't think my pdoc will go that far. But I have an idea:

I think I'll go into his office with report in hand (thanks Elizabeth) and try to talk him into letting me have a trial of Buprenorphine for my depression. If he says 'no', which is very probable, then asking for the Xanax won't seem like such a big deal. I hate this Neurontin. I would much rather be back on my klonipin. I only seem to achieve remission when I'm on a benzo.

Anyway, how long have you been on Remeron?

Tim, what is burphronin?
Iv been on an off remeron. remeron to me is like lithium to a bipolar person. Its sorta stabilizes my agjitated mood. When i dont take remeron , 2 days later, i feel more angry and ajitated, i yell more, and get mad real quick. i also feel very anxious and more nervious.
The drawback is increased hunger. But its better than nausea like most ssris

are you sure he won't just assume you're "drug seeking?"

It is really sad that some docs are so prejudiced against someone that wants to try certain drugs. If you have a good history with your doc, he/she should be happy to give you a short trial of ANY med. And if the med helps, and will not cause harm in the long run, you should have access to it.

There are some good pdocs out there. I'm lucky to have one.

You're right. Bad idea. Why did I let him talk me out of Klonipin?

It's an opiate drug that Elizabeth was talking about that can be used for depression. It's amazing how popular the subject 'opiates for depression' is now days.
