ADHD -- does this diagnosis even mean anything?

Posted by ThatGuyJohn on September 7, 2001, at 17:11:34

Hey all. So on top of BP2, I recently was told that I have ADHD. I read the checklist of symptoms I exhibited to indicate this diagnosis, and I realized that describes practically everybody I know.

Is this even a meaningful diagnosis?

Any adults here being treated for it? I would like to learn more. Thanks!

Yes, it does mean something. See Ratey's "Shadow C
Syndromes." It is also part of the BPII mix, along with TLE, all of which I have. The difference the dx made to me was that I was put on Dex, and began to have a brain. My right brain still goes great guns, but at least the left has a limping hope of keeping up.
