Ask your doctor, he/she may suggest Ambien or Sonata if you have no history of drug abuse, or they may suggest something like Seroquel that is an antipsychotic with powerful sedation.

It didn't affect my skin at all. The effexor is hell to my skin. Do you already have a prescription for the trazadone? It is used as a sleep medication also I believe. Previous doc prescribed it for me because for some reason he thought I wasn't sleeping, which wasn't my problem. Was on it for a year with no bad side effects or withdrawal, low dose though.

Occasionally I suffer terribly from insomnia. When my doctor prescribed Seroquel for me, I picked it up from the pharmacy and bitched all the way home because I knew it would not help me. I had never even heard of it, and I have a high tolerance for medication. I think I was saying something like, "Well, just like I thought, I took those pills and they haven't done..." wham, I was out cold. Seroquel is an excellent sleep aid. They work even better with a high-carb meal.
Sweet dreams-
