TRIED EVERYTHING. SUGGESTIONS?

Posted by Cap on June 30, 2001, at 2:05:42

As seems relatively common around here, the only thing which has thus far alleviated my combo of debilitating depression and social anxiety has been Parnate (with various degrees of Klonipin to take the edge off). As also seems relatively common, it has consistently pooped out after a few months--leading to that dreary 'on again-off again' cycle. At this point, it works for such a short period it doesn't even seem worthwhile. I've been on other MAOIs,several SSRIs and TCAs, Effexor, Buspar, and Wellbutrin. Nothing else has worked in the slightest. ECT worked initially, but then pooped out even faster than the Parnate.
Maybe I'm a mutant (an increasingly desperate one), but if anyone has had a similar story which actually ended in a successful outcome (involving some exotic or rarely-tried meds, Vagus Nerve Stimulation, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, or any other non-lobotomizing remedy), I'd be grateful to hear it. Thanks.
