HI , whats the difrence between epherdine alkaloids and EPHEDRINE SULFATE ??

OK cool, your very insightful. may-be you can try this one : If you can take 25 mg of ephedrine HCL (the strongest) orally 3 or 4 times daily how mutch of ephedrine alkaloids (the weekest) can be taken?

I used to take mini-thins or Bronkaid to study before I got a prescription for Ritalin- Ritalin or Adderall are way better with less side effects. Mini-thins had 25 mg of ephedrine alkaloids and 50 mg of caffeine. I think the ephedrine alkaloids are roughly equivalent to artifical ephedrine sulfate. So 25mg ephedrine alkaloids=25 mg ephedrine sulfate. Bronkaid asthma tablets also contain 400 mg of guafenesin which is an expectorant which doesn't do much of anything but if you take more than 2 pills at once it may make you throw up. I don't know much about ephedrine hcl since it is illegal in Texas but you can buy it on the internet or at truck stops. Over 100 mg per day of ephedra alkaloids or ephedrine is not recommended and more than 2 pills at once can causes a dangerous & sometimes fatal rise in blood pressure- i'm only 22 & have had irregular heart beats & palpitations from mini-thins & ephedrine. Caffeine works well with ephedrine but if you don't drink lots of water with these drugs you will feel like crap from dehydration. Are you taking this to lose weight, to wake up in the morning, or to study or party longer?
Also, the best ephedra pill i've tried is a diet pill called Xetalean. It has 200 mg of guarana caffeine which is stronger than regular caffeine & 20 mg of ephedra alkaloids and some other energy ingredients. They sell it at Wal Mart- I think its near the dexatrim. Ripped fuel extreme has the same ingredients but is more expensive.here is a web site with much info & links on ephedrine:

PS. Im using it to speed up my now slo energy. Tryin to combat the side effects of pain meds (oxycodone + hydroxyzine aka vistaril ) .

>"Alkaloid" is the term for the naturally occuring base chemicals found in plants. In the case of the heeb Ma Huang, it contains several ephedrine alkaloids, including ephedrine and its chemical cousins pseudoephedrine, and norspeudoephedrine. Ephedrine sulfate is the salt which is produced when the ephedrine alkaloid is combined with sulfuric acid. Likewise, ephedrine hydrocloride is the salt produced with hydrochloric acid. The reason that pharaceutical products are usually in the form of hydrochloride or sulfate salts is that they are more stable in that form, but will disolve in your stomach acid into the original base alkaliod.
If you've ever heard someone talk about "free basing" cocaine, the free base is the cocaine alkaloid, while the snorted poweder is cocaine hydrochloride, the salt.
So, in short, you are geting the same basic chemical once the salt disolves. The main difference is that with the herbal version, you are probably getting pseudoephedrine (Sudafed) and norpseudoephedrine in the mix as well, and the compounds are in a less stable form, so exact dosage and purity are questionable.
