So tired. Ugh. Just wondering if there are any long term users out there before I launch into some questions. Yes, I am without oomph and the thought of typing my questions to deaf ears....
I'm talking two plus years. Regular or SR.
Anyone?

What is regular or SR? I was on it after Prozac made me too hyped and Paxil made me sleep almost ALL the time. I suppose I was on it a year or more, kept creeping up to the max dosage, and I complained that it was too hard to remember the 3x a day routine. If I find out /remember what the exact deal was, I'll let you know. Honestly I can't remember that year being any better, or worse, than others...kind of wash. I do rememeber, at the upper dosage level, I began bingeing on food and alcohol. (Like I'm doing now on max serzone - thanks for the realization!)
I've now been on serzone for 2+ years, and having probs with it and maxing out, once again. Do you think, as some say, that these meds really only do work for few years at the most? After all, there are so many to try sometimes i wonder why not just move on to another?
I recently complained that I was too sleepy and sedated at max serzone (600 mgs) so they cut me to 400 within 2 weeks - I crashed, had my first panic attack, and generally am/was pretty pissed off. I'm back up to 500, with added Serax for anxiety. Trying to keep from going back to 600, since it seems somehow not an acceptable level to be at, according to my doc. I'm relegated to the fact I will probably have to be on meds most of my life - I wish there were more info on meds effectiveness over periods of time...
Thanks for listening, and hopefully I've added something to your thoughts. Maybe its time for a med change for both of us tired, maxed out folk. wish someone had a firm answer...

Alii - I took Wellbutrin on three occasions, on and off for 4 years, with the longest continuous treatment being 18 months. I am taking Effexor XR now, as the Wellbutrin did not seem to work as well for this last episode (although there are extenuating circumstances for this last bout of depression and it may have a different causality than my normal, seemingly lifelong depression).

Have had anxiety for over a year with a lot of facial flushing and some muscle weakness. My doctor has had me on all the SSRI's .. most recently Celexa. They all give me the creeps and don't help my anxiety (diazapam and beta blockers help). I asked for Wellbutrin and was told it's too stimulating. I argued and won and it appears to have helped some of my symptoms. Any theories?
