Trazodone

Does anyone have any personal experience using Trazodone alone or in combination with other antidepressants? I just started taking a bit of it at night and it seems to be antianxiety & pro sleep. Just want to know what your experiences have been with side effects and success. Is it going to be one of those constipating & fattening drugs?

Hi Scott,
My wife has used Trazodone for the past couple of years in combination with several other drugs and has not run into any major side effects. She takes it mainly to help her sleep (actually to reduce the restless sleep effects some of her other meds cause). One downside is that it appears to lose some of its effectiveness over time. My wife went up to 200mgs a couple of months ago and her sleep has not improved. Several of our friends have also commented on how it seems to lose effectiveness. The first two years she was on Trazodone it DID work very well.

Good Luck!
