Is there any hope?

Posted by SheilaE on October 10, 2000, at 20:43:34

I have been reading some of these posts and a little light bulb is starting to glow in my head. Here I am thinking that it is old age catching up with me, but seems it may not be so.

I am on 300 mg of Effexsor. I have had a bad time since my mom died among other things. I have also been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I was taking Elavil for it but when I started on the Effexsor I quit taking it cuz I was afraid I was getting too much anti-depressants. I have very horrible nightmares that they gave me Trazadone for. I have broken off my teeth from the clenching and now I wear a night guard. And the leg and body twitches as I go off to sleep are weird. I have also been suffering from night sweats which I have been attributing to menopause. I am 50 years old and had my uterus taken out 8 yrs ago so I have no gauge. The doctor tells me my hormones are fine. Oh and I forgot to mention that I also have gained 80 lbs after starting the Effexsor. And I have gone from a very caring nice person to one with a bad temper that flares out of control. My hair is getting thinner and thinner on top and awfully white too. When you write it all down it sounds like I am pretty much a royal mess. Is there any hope?

Why not try something else (there are lots of AD's out there). Several of my friends with cronic conditions take Remeron.

James,
You seem to know your meds. pretty well. Do you think the dangers of mixing a ssri and Moai are as dangerous as they say. I would like try a small dose of celexa on top of the nardil I'm currently taking.
