celexa skin rash

Posted by Eileen on September 1, 2000, at 10:41:54

I have been on celexa for 2 months. At first the only side effects I had were insomnia and strange dreams. Now I am experiencing extreme nausia and a rash on my legs and back. I have to wonder if this is related to the Celexa? Anyone else have delayed reactions?
Thanks
Eileen

I was warned by my doctor to watch for signs of rash (at first, at least) upon starting Celexa. He didn't indicate it would be a latent side effect. Perhaps it's related to your dose. What are you at now after two months?

I haven't had any side-effects with Celexa. I hope you see your doc ASAP. Good luck.

I was never warned of any possibility of a skin rash on Celexa. The only medication I was warned of a serious side effect involving a skin rash was Lamictal.
I have been on Celexa for a year and am currently on a dose of 60mgs.

Eileen, I have had a rash (allergic hives?) at night for about two months now, and am on Effexor-XR. Am not sure it is caused by the Effexor-XR. I'm starting to hear from people, though, that Effexor-XR and SSRI's such as Celexa can cause this. I've been taking the AD for 9 months now, and it may be a delayed reaction; not sure why.--Cindy W

I have been on celexa for over a year.
Never experienced any strange side-effects.
However, recently I started going to a tanning booth.
(I'm going on a cruise at the end of the month
and I didn't want to get fried).
Anyway, after the second session, I began getting
hives and rash symptoms over most of my body.
Itched like hell.
Are you in the sun a lot?
Is anyone aware of any UV light effects with celexa?
