Silly Little Update

Posted by Vesper on March 27, 2000, at 16:18:56

hello all. I'm down to .5mg klonopin sometimes skipping a day. I'm really spaced out all the time so please forgive the lack of intelligence in this post.
I don't even know why I'm posting.
No psytx still, and I haven't had any alcohol in almost a week. I'm sleeping better, which is weird because alcohol used to help me sleep, but after awhile I think it interfered with it.

My guess is that we'd all start screaming at you if you kept too quiet. ;^)

At least a few of us out here do care, and it feels good to keep us in the loop, doesn't it?

Thanks for posting, V

Yes, you are right.
another update...I may have a career in the television and film industry, if I like the next 2 days. My friend is a location scout/manager. She did location management for American Beauty. I am going to assist her for the next 2 days, arranging city permits and getting permission from residents for filming. The pay is great, and you set your own hours, as long as things get done.
I hope I can handle it, wish me luck!

Wishing you luck Vesper, and I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for keeping us updated, there are many threads on the board, getting close to archiving I believe, but did see your message. I hope you can still feel free to share or ask for help when you need it. Best wishes to you, I will keep you in my thoughts.

Go back and look at some of your posts a month or more ago, then look at you now. Even before this wicked cool new job, your posts on other threads has you sounding way better than you were, even if you don't believe it quite yourself yet.

Here's another lyric for you:
"You helped me more by not giving in."
(Amy Ray, Pushing the Needle Too Far).

If you do any location trips out here to NYC, get me a role as an extra, okay? ;^)

Bob, you didn't have to tell me where that quote came from...look at my email address for a clue as to my musical obsession...
It's weird, in some ways I feel a lot better, but I also feel like I'm faking it an am about to do something destructive. The last 2 days trying out working again have been alternately fun and excruciating. I find I am not as together mentally as I used to be and have been having a lot of thougts of suicide and cutting...
Thank you everyone for your kind words here. I have just worked 2 20 hr. days, and I am completely drained. Fortunately I don't have the energy right now to do anything to myself. I got a message from the person I worked for congratulating me on a job well done and offering me an even better job as a 2nd assistant location manager on set during filming. It's scary because I barely handled the last 2 days, and I feel like something's gonna give, if you know what I mean. I feel strange around all these celebrity types too, I'm not overly impressed by them and don't know if I should just be myself, or be deferential like the rest of the "little people."
Actually, the directors are more arrogant than the actors, for the most part.

Hey Vesper,

Don't know you too well - I haven't been around to long, and don't read every thing - but it's good to hear that things have gone well lately. Go day by day, and you can do it, apparently you've already done a great job... Just try to get yourself enough rest, and then nothing'll give.

Two unrelated things: 1)personally, I'd go the be my/yourself route, as far as the celebrity types go - though easier said than done... 2) I'm a long-time IG fan as well - don't forget about bob & me when the time comes...

Vesper,
It's past my bedtime, but I was just browsing through a book that I ordered for the mood charts in the back and these slogans are tailor made for you:
From: "St. John's Wort, The Herbal Way to Feeling Good" by Norman Rosenthal, M.D. of NIMH & Georgetown fame. He shares these slogans with his depressed patients.

"One day at a time.
Just get your body there; the rest will follow.
Fake it till you make it."

Blessings,

Chris A.

Fake it til you make it ...

Very nice, ChrisA ... learn it, live it, love it.

I know that ... it was for everyone else. ;^) No point in being too obscure about the good stuff.

cheers,
bob
