JohnL, I have seen some informative posts from you lately. Can I correctly assume your med situation and mood are stabilized? I know you were making some changes recently.

I do feel more stable these days. I was experimenting with different things that really threw me off course. I was quite depressed and nearly psychotic for a while and didn't even have the motivation to show up here. Drowning in despair. So I've restabilized on 20mg Prozac with 50mg Lamictal for the time being. I have a new psychiatrist who I will meet with for the first consultation on Feb 24. From what I know of this doctor, he will likely run me through quick sample trials of all the available psychostimulants and possibly the mood stabilizers as well, looking for a best fit. I've been through the ringer with antidepressants, and I know he is not likely to continue exploring in an area that has proved frustrating. He will explore other approaches. He basically uses medication reactions to guide treatment rather than symptoms or diagnosis. Very often a drug(s) that works is in a class that might not seem obvious at first for the particular symptoms.

Your insight and perception surprised me in a pleasant way. I am indeed more stabilized, though far from well. Thanks for noticing. Basically on hold until Feb 24. JohnL
