changing from zoloft to celexia

Posted by Eileen on May 4, 1999, at 7:09:27

I have been on zoloft for clinical depression for
about 5 years. My therapist is suggesting i try
celexia because it seems to help three of his patients
and their anger/resentment. I would like to try it;
however i find my medical doctor and therapist know
little about withdrawel ect. I have read you may
switch from one SSRI to another without tapering meds;
however i tried to taper zoloft with St Johns Wort and
had bad withdrawel. I am excited to try celexia but
anxious about withdrawel any suggestions.
My dosage of zoloft is 100mg/day Thank you!!!!!!!

i have heard that tappering from one SSRI to another is not necessary. I switched directly from zoloft to Celexa without any problems. I was only on zoloft for a few months though. I really like the results I am getting from Celexa.

i was on "Effexor" an antidepresant and antianxiety, at first it was ok.. but later I felt bad side effects after switching to celexia... i feel very great and without the side effects.. the switch wasn't bad at all
