Reboxetine approval date

Posted by Peter on October 1, 1999, at 22:20:18

Anyone know when Reboxetine will be approved in US? I heard it was to be in Oct 99. I would also love to hear about people's experiences with this drug in comparison to SSRIs and others. Thanks!

I don't know of the approval date but, the brand name of reboxetine will be Vestra by Pharmacia-Upjohn.

As far as I know it should be released in October or November. It is currently available in Europe as Edronax and supposedly has fewer side effects than SSRI's. It's technically classified as a NARI.

I hope it will be released soon in the US. It's a great med for
the severely depressed and is supposed to help with
social phobia too. It works better than SSRI's at least
for me and the side effects were very mild as well.
Good luck to all and keep us posted!

I called the manufacturer a couple of weeks ago--it`s been postponed til next year due to a dispute with the FDA over the package labeling.
