I am a person with problems at times with anxiety and depression.
For me I found drugs problematic, which all of you seem to also say. Not to negate the use of drugs, or to say you have never tried alternative methods, but I found using meditation and sports helped a lot, as I am sure for others music and arts. Meditation has many methods; I used TM on a friends advise, not as often as advised but still it helped. Plus going for a run, or swimming in which you watch the line and concentrate on breathing which as a consequence causes you to switch off from other things. Sometimes these things are more effective than others, sometimes, for me, I am suprised at how effective they are. And, without all the experimentation and problems with prescriptions.
I don't know whether it is true but meditation and sex are supposed to increase seratonin. Who knows, I feel better after both.
This is the end of the thread.
