My psychopharmacologist just put me on Sam-e. Anyone out there have any experience (good or bad) with this stuff?

Karen, I tried SAMe for a month. Started 400mg/day, increased by 200mg each day up to 1200mg, where I stayed for two weeks. At that time I had noticed nothing, no benefits, no side effects either, almost like a daily vitamin. It costs so much and is touted to work so fast. I was disappointed and started tapering down to finish off what I had already purchased. Maybe I quit too soon or didn't use a high enough dose, but SAMe did absolutely nothing. At about $1 a pill cheapest, max dose of 1600mg is $8 a day. For that price, it better be darn good. Wish you well though, lots of studies show it works, if you can afford it. We're all different in response. JohnL.
