I started to rant and rave about this in an earlier posting but thought it might be better on it's own.
My wife has tried just about everything out there for depression - with different degrees of success. She's a pych nurse and is in touch with these meds and what we've both noticed is an incredible lack of understanding by the Doctors out there. The consistently downplay the side effects of these meds.
She's been told that "Weight gain isn't a side effect", "Sexual disfunction is only reported in about 1/2% of people taking this one", "Klonipin isn't addictive, don't worry about that", and so on! As I say, she's a psych nurse so she is in regular contact with people actually taking the meds and receives constant complaints about the side effects that the doctors deny!
Hey Docs.... think about WHO is reporting the side effects to you. Then think about what would happen if they actually admitted what they are. Then think about their sales figures after people really understood them.
