I've been reading all of the threads I can find on Effexor and boy was I shocked! The side effects alone sound like hell on earth, but then you add the killer withdrawls and I'm wondering why Effexor is even on the market! My doctor prescribed Effexor for my depression and ADD just yesterday, and I'm glad I did my homework. I had no idea that there were so many problems with this drug. I'm really looking for some positive stories...if you are on Effexor and couldn't be happier please write back and help me out! I've heard alot about Neurontin also, that it is used to treat depression and has less side effects. Does anyone have more info on Neurontin? I've been taking Wellbutrin SR for the past 6 weeks and it helps with the ADD but not the depression. I'm just looking for answers so I can make an informed decision! Please help me out!

I've had a positive experience with effexor befor it stopped working for me. I experienced some tremors but that's about it. The withdrawal was bad -I experienced flu-like symptoms and gained weight. But it lasted for two weeks only and then I was fine. I guess the side effects are different for different people.
