More information on Cylert, please!

Posted by paul on April 7, 1999, at 23:17:26

If ANYONE has detailed information on Cylert, please post or send me a message. If there are resources for quality, scientific information about it on the Internet, please direct me there. Every search I've conducted brings me to all these biased anti-pharmaceutical sites. I'm sick of reading the same common denominator set of facts about Cylert- I have some concerns and would some rational and more comprehensive literature.

I'm surprised at how scant information on this drug appears to be. Thanks in advance.

Celexa, Prozac, Ritalin, LSD, anxiety, weight loss

Hah! I got you to look.

I give up on posting questions.

Sorry I don't have a question about Celexa or some other new antidepressant, or a question about anything anyone can relate to. It just seems like my posts are always ignored. Not that I'm expecting any response, but if someone would direct me to a place where I can receive answers, I would appreciate it.

James here....

Try www.yahoo.com enter Cylert yahoo returns 600+ web pages so help yourself.

As many of us are lay persons just speaking from our own personal ex. with meds, and as Cylert is not a first line med for add (and most report it is not as effective as other stims)probably there is not anyone here who has experiances with it. I have ADD and I have never taken it...nor will I.

Why dont you try Medline? You can get into Medline from the first page of 'Psycho Tips.' Cylert is also 'pemoline'. The stuff is a stimulant; its main distinction is that it takes several hours to start working and continues to work longer than the other stimulants; it has less effect on your body as a whole; it accumulates; it can cause liver damage. Most say it is less effective than other stimulants; some find it a kinder, gentler stimulant--I did at first. Now, it does nothing for me most of the time; altho if I stay away from it for some time, it maay help me get some work done at a busier time. Some armed services use it with apparent success when men must remain awake and alert for long periods. It may or may not be useful for you; ther is no way to know without trying. It has not been much researched. Several countries havetaken it off the market on the grounds that it offers no advantage sufficient to overcome the risk to the liver. What we all want to know about drugs is what no research can tell us: How will it affect ME. I hope I've been somewhat helpful.
