Cymbalta withdrawal

Posted by kim byrne on December 8, 2005, at 21:17:07

I was on Cymbalta for over a year. It quit working. Actually it never worked that well. It was my Tramadol plus Provigil that helped the depression.Anyhow my doctor decided to change me to Pamelor and Adderol. I went off Cymbalta cold turkey. I have never felt depression in my life
like I am feeling now. Uncontrollable crying, morbid thoughts. It is horrendous. How long does the withdrawal from this god awful med take. I have been off for about 5 days and am feeling no better.

Yeah, cymbalta can be very potent stuff. I tried it for only 4 days, and only doing about 20 beads per day, which is only a mere 3mg or so. Since the dose was so low and it had only been 4 days, I just stopped it cold turkey. First day was fine. The second day, oh my. Incredible depression on top of my already existing depression, anxiety out of the blue, feeling flu like symptoms, very dizzy and foggy, very sore joints. It lasted 2 to 3 days. No idea how long your withdrawal will take. But I know how aweful it is. It might be helpful to empty the beads out of capsule and take some and do a slow taper off of it.
