need help going off effexor xr

Posted by jenny1989 on June 14, 2005, at 22:22:02

Hi- I just found this website today. I was on 150 mg a day and am trying to go off completely. I can't handle the nightmares anymore! I took 75mg for a week and today I dropped down to 37.5mg and 10mg paxil. How long should I stay on the 75/10 mg combo? I am having the shocking head effects annd am clumbsy, slight headaches (nothing worse than before) and woke up the last few days congested. How long until I feel normal? I just want to be done with this med. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

I know the tendancy is when you come off, you feel horrable and so you get in a rush to completely rid yourself of it.

Its going to take time, and unfortunately the slower you go the more likely you will be sucessful.

It varies from person to person. Some go off it one day and don't notice a thing. People like me go off of it a granule at a time, and are still getting shock sensations 6 months later.

I wish you better.
