Following up to my life.

Posted by ClearSkies on May 16, 2016, at 12:26:48

It took until last week for me to receive the last of the settlement from my divorce. I've paid a price with my soul and wellbeing - and it's also clear I would have been in much more of a dire situation had I not left. Psychologically I am more resilient and at the same time I took some hits, figuratively speaking.

My medications are stable for the time being. I survived a visit home, and have vowed it to be my last, for who knows how long. The mom, she doesn't know when to stop hurting. This daughter knows it's time *I* learn and just leave her be. It's exhausting.

I'm still thrilled with my solitude and my preferred silence, yet I'm managing to make friends and get out of the apartment. One by one is suiting me. This afternoon is meeting a new friend for coffee, something unheard of a year ago unless I had massive reassurances.

I see that Larry Hoover has being paying a visit. Hello, Lar. I believe I have a shared experience.

Skies are still Clear

It must be a huge relief to finish the divorce stuff. I hope you keep enjoying the single life. Looking back I wish I had valued my single years more. There are definitely pros & cons vs married life. I think I could have enjoyed it more if I'd known that one day I would be married again.

....and I may marry again. But not before living good and long as a solitary woman.
Even the cat understands the need for quiet. ;-)

Divorce is exhausting. But finally getting out of a toxic situation, priceless. It sounds like you're working through it okay. Your resilience is inspiring. Like you, I need to get out and see some friends or make new ones. Glad you're enjoying your new life.

A shared experience. How exciting. I love it when that happens, you can gossip and spread scat all over, but in a loving way. Gossip is so healing, especially when it's with Larry Hoover.

Hello, who are you? Do you know Larry too? What a coincidence for a new poster!

Sorry to read of your suffering your divorce yet I'm celebrating your emancipation from the matrimonial nightmare. AND you ditched that special maternal torture, too!
Two! Double Gold medals there: You have escaped!! You smart woman, you!!

Freedom is the more precious in that it is never free. And you know the price you have paid for your escape. You own your freedom. Now, now ClearSkies, you can be the ClearSkies you want to be. From now on.

I have next-to-zero of your fabulous strength you've built yourself. I should be ashamed of being so lazy.

I am proud to have you, Clear, put me to shame. I thank you.

(I can never get married again either: my wife won't let me.)

I think Larry Hoover might be quite the friendly guy :-)

Nothing wrong with that, just saying ;-)
