Burriedmy Grandmother thismorning.last grandparent

I am at the age where there are more funerals then anything. She was 93, and in dementia. Sad my poor sweet sister had to see her die, as she died in my sister's home at 1100 pm last SATURDAY night. My Sis tried to give her CPR, BUT no luck. I held her in my arms today at the funeral as she couldn't stop crying. She is so sweet and sensitive, and sadly suffers from bad depression too. She is on Cipralex/Lexapro, but still not good. Now she talks about divorcing her husband of 30 years...they have 3 kids, all over 20, and 1 grandkid on the way. I think this is my calling...to try and save my big sister. I'd give my life for her. So...we'll see.....

I'm so sorry Jay. I know what you mean about funerals, I decided not to attend any more after my Grandmother's, but then when my cousin died and I didn't attend his, I later felt incredibly guilty about not being there for his parents. I guess funerals are really all about supporting the people left behind.

I feel for your sister. I was my Grandmother's caregiver for many years and I considered her my best friend. Its good that you are there for here now. You're a good brother. Hang in there.

I'm sorry for your loss Jay. Please take good care of yourself and make sure you are ready to help your sister as and when you are emotionally ready.

Peace to you during this sad time.

Seldom.

Hi Jay.

I'm sorry for your loss, but I guess it was time. Even when you know it's coming, the world still seems somewhat empty knowing that she is no longer a part of it. This was my experience. I just lost my grandmother at age 99. She was the last of her generation. Although I had a lot of time to prepare for it, that did not prevent a river of tears that I shed. Fortunately, she was mentally sharp right up until the end, and provided me with many joys in her later years.

So sorry Jay.

Please take good care of yourself. You're a good brother & a good person.

Maybe the focus of helping your sister will help you get through this more easily. Please be in touch with your own needs, okay?
(((((you)))))

love, Kath

Hey folks....sorry I had to leave a 'general' to-all message. My time planning SUCKS, and I am all behind work, school (distance ed), and can't even put on a shirt properly! THANK YOU so much for your warm thoughts....it's really a big issue filled with years of a dysfunctional family relationship (at times..heh). You are all very sweet, kind, and wonderful. Bless you all,

In love and light,
Jay

Thinking of you Jay (nm)
