Help

Posted by Cass on June 6, 2009, at 10:29:58

A couple days ago, I either started to have a heart attack or I had a severe panic attack. I was informed that my father passed away that morning. We weren't close, but it still has a lot of impact on me. Throughout the day, I developed a splitting headache (head aches are unusual for me), chest pain, tingling in my arms and hands, funny pains in my legs and difficulty breathing. It was really scary. I almost took myself the the ER. I ended up talking a prilosec in case the chest pain was heart burn, a motrin and a sedative. I started feeling a bit better, so I went out to eat with a friend. By the end of the meal, I felt almost completely better although the meal ended giving me awful indigestion. I've been anxious the two following days.

Cass, those are signs of a heart attack. we saw lots of people in ER with those symptoms.

It was really scary. I almost took myself the the ER.

I wish you had gone to ER.

This doesn't sound good!!! How are you now?

(((you)))

Aw Cass. That sounds terrifying.

I'm glad you got feeling better.

It wouldn't surprise me that the death might trigger TONS of feelings inside you, due to recent events in your life. I'm glad you had friends who you could get together with.

A few years ago, I was in a car accident (minor, but still traumatic) a few minutes from my house. For quite a long time afterwards, when I'd drive through the area where it happened, I'd feel anxious & actually have physical stuff happen in my body. So I think our body must store emotions which sometimes surface when triggered by something similar to what originally caused them.

I bet that's what happened in this case. How are you now?

much love, Kath

Cass - after reading Fayeroe's post, sounds like it would be a good idea to go to a doctor just in case. I had forgotten that indigestion is a symptom linked with heart attack.

((((((Cass)))))

Please let us know.

luv, Kath

I probably should have gone to the ER, but oh well... I feel okay now. If I have any symptoms again, I'll go straight to the hospital. In the meantime, I'm going to schedule an appointment with my doctor.

Great Idea...~~~~CASS~~~~ (nm) » Cass
