Scott - How are you doing?

Posted by Kath on March 21, 2009, at 15:13:15

I haven't been 'keeping up' with reading posts much.

Am wondering how you are.

love, Kath

Was going to start this with "Hey Mr. Special" but realized that, although you ARE that, there are others here too & don't want to make them feel left out!!! xoxo K

Hi Kath.

Thanks for asking!

I am riding a mild emotional rollercoaster. I oscillate between being despondent due to the apparant failure of my current treatment, to an expectation that it will soon work. I sometimes get brief interludes of improvement between longer periods of time spent at a response plateau. I am about 30% improved right now. That is not too bad - for a start. I really need to be at a minimum of 50% to return to work.

In general, I am okay. I still smile. I still flirt. I still look forward to the future. I still enjoy the many joys to be found in the present.

I would have been the FIRST to force the inclusion of everyone else.

:-)

Hi Scott,
Sorry to hear about the emotional roller coaster. I think you've been posting at this site as long as I have but probably more consistently, and I've always appreciated your support, kindness and intelligence. I'm glad to hear you can smile and flirt.

Your affirmations are most welcome and appreciated. Sometimes, I am clueless as to what kind of impact I have on Psycho-Babble. People on Psychology and Social have been saying nice things about me lately, but I often feel underappreciated on the Medicine board. I don't seem to connect with people there. I find myself being less and less motivated to participate there. Besides, I think I have suffered Psycho-Babble burn-out.

Be well.

Dear Scott,

Thanks for replying!

I am sorry this is such a tremendously 'long haul' for you Scott.

The fact that (from your post)

>In general, I am okay. I still smile. I still flirt. I still look forward to the future. I still enjoy the many joys to be found in the present.

is amazing to me & part of what makes you so special.

((((((((((((((((((((you)))))))))))))))))))

I am hoping that you reach your 50% & WAY more & that you feel way better really soon. Not sure where you live as to Spring arriving, etc. I'm finding that the sun is helping me feel somewhat better, but on cloudy days, it seems to affect me even more, now that I'm getting more of a taste of the sun.

I send my love & loving thoughts, Kath

Scott, if you're feeling like that about that board, I'd say 'why go there?'

Especially as you are appreciated & valued greatly on Social & Psychology Boards.

Please take care of yourself regarding this.

love, Kath

I've found all of your posts in the medicine board to be extremely informative. You have a wealth of knowledge and experience with many medications, and you have a kind soul.

Scott is a wonderful person. I do understand what he means by med board. But I too have found social and psychology board to be very welcoming. Scott hope you get your wish of returning to work soon. Love Phillipa

Scott,

Just want to chime in here and let you know that I always read your postings on the med board. I'll second what Cass said above.

My grandmother died last night. That is, of course a lot to deal with.

I am also upset that I have to continue to endure any longer this bipolar depression of mine, and cannot operate at the same cognitive and intellectual levels as the people around me. I miss my active, and usually accurate, mind. I only really came to know my mind over a 6-9 month period of time in 1987. I had been in complete remission then. To have to give up on the possibility of experiencing this again is making me sad.

I'm so sorry Scott. About everything.

It must be so hard to try to keep your hope alive after all this time.

Please babblemail me if you feel up to it.

love, Kath

Holding golden light around you - I'll do it all day. xoxo Kath

If I didn't think that returning to nortriptyline after my experiment of switching to desipramine would help me feel moderately better, I would begin to feel hopeless. I am happy to report that I am now feeling better for having switched back to nortriptyline.

Thanks.

Yo Scott - I know next to zippo about meds & haven't even heard of either one!

I am extremely glad to hear that the switch is helping! :-)))))))))))))))

Today is sunny, thank goodness. I have 3 purple crocuses blooming on my front yard. That's good! It's a little warmer. That's good too. I WISH the snow would melt & that the grass would turn green. I know it will, but part of me doesn't seem to know it!

Thanks for the hugs. I am quite a fan of hugs - both giving & receiving them.

xoxo Kath
